Warehouse Operator

Description

The Warehouse Operator position is responsible for properly maintaining the warehouse.

Summary of Essential Tasks:

• Check all paperwork associated with outgoing shipments.
• Loading and unloading of trucks.
• Allocation and pulling of materials for production.
• Staging of materials in and out of the warehouse.
• Schedule the transportation of outgoing and incoming shipments.
• Preparing shipments and checking that they are prepared in a secured manner.
• Maintaining a neat and orderly warehouse.
• Perform other duties as directed by the appropriate supervisor or manager.
• Transfer material between 158 and 281.
• Shut down the road between 158 and 281 when needed.

Skills Required:

• Ability to speak and write in a clear and informative manner.
• Attend and pass regulatory training.
• Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and organize work activities.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts and to apply concepts to practical situations.
• Ability to observe safety and security procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions.
• Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, developing alternative solutions.
• Ability to react professionally under pressure and- to treat others with respect and consideration.
• Ability to adapt to frequent changes, delays, or other unexpected events.

Essential Job Functions:

• The ability to follow direction or instruction.
• The ability to deal politely and professionally with customers, truckers, dispatchers, and coworkers.
• The ability to successfully complete DOT, IATA, IMDG, and Hazardous Waste training.
• The ability to use a computer to communicate, create, and access information.
• The ability to predictably and regularly attend work and to be punctual.
• The ability to read and understand documents, and instructions (whether presented in written, oral, or schedule form)
• The ability to lift 75-100 lbs and move up to 600 lbs.
• The ability to sit, stand, bend, and stretch, etc.
• The ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with the hands and arms.
• The ability to lift and move up to 50lbs repeatedly.
• The ability to observe safety and security procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Minimum one to two years of warehouse experience.

Salary : $27,700 - $35,000
