GEM Technologies, Inc. (GEM) is seeking a Claims & Records Assistant, EEOICPA to join our team. This position is full-time and will support the Hanford Site in Richland, WA.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma and 1 years of relevant experience.
- Possess the skills and knowledge of EEOICPA necessary to process claims, evaluate the needed information, and refer the claims to the necessary Hanford Site contractors for their partial submittals.
- Possess appropriate records management experience or is obtaining Federal records management training.
Clearance Level Required:
Uncleared - Must be able to obtain and maintain a Clearance
Per Diem / Travel Authorized:
To Be Determined
Overview:
- Assist in logging documents/boxes into an established tracking system.
- Move records boxes from one location in a work area to another to ensure the boxes are accurately staged for various work processes.
- Scan personnel, medical or claim records from paper and electronic format and merge/ consolidate the scanned files.
- Provide typing, scanning, or records management support to EEOICPA claim and other EEOICPA related functions.
- Create documents, lists or indices from various sources.
- Other miscellaneous technical support duties.
Clearance & Citizenship Requirement:
- To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
- Due to the federal nature of the work, a U.S. Citizenship is required.
About the Site:
The Hanford Site, located within a 580-square-mile section of semi-arid desert in Richland, Washington, was established in 1943 as part of the Manhattan Project to produce plutonium for national defense. Here, the DOE focuses on environmental restoration, waste management, scientific and environmental research and development of radioactive waste technologies. Under the Tri-Party Agreement, lower-level hazardous wastes are buried in huge, lined pits that will be sealed and monitored with sophisticated instruments for many years (energy.gov).
