Library assistant

GEM Technologies, Inc. (GEM) is seeking a Research Library Assistant for Technical Reports to join our team. This position is full-time and will support the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM .

Overview :

• Support the LANL Research Library that is currently working to fully catalog and digitize our historical technical report collection in print format.
• Assist with the review of collection contents for classification, indexing, cataloging, preparing, and storing published technical information in print format.
• Check for digital copies in trusted repositories like OSTI.gov or HathiTrust.org.
• Conduct searches following well-established procedures.
• Apply Laboratory policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
• Utilizes standard principles, theories, concepts and techniques as recognized within the records management, archives, or library profession.
• Provides resolutions to an assortment of problems of moderately complex scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
• Contributes to the fulfillment of projects and organizational objectives.
• Receives detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.

Clearance & Citizenship Requirement :

• To be considered, you must have an active or very recently active DOE Q Clearance or DoD Top Secret Clearance.
• Due to the federal nature of the work, a U.S. Citizenship is requ ired.

About the Site :

The NNSA's Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), located in Los Alamos, New Mexico, is a design laboratory responsible for the safety and reliability of the nuclear explosives package in nuclear weapons.

This lab possesses unique capabilities in neutron scattering, enhanced surveillance, radiography, and plutonium science and engineering ( energy.gov ).

GEM’s offered compensation is dependent on candidates’ education, qualifications, and relevant years of experience.

• High School Diploma and 2 years of relevant experience.
• Must have good computer repository, filing systems skills.
• Must be able to lift print materials and / or archival boxes (that are up to 25 pounds).
• Experience with warehouse inventory including inventory control.
• Experience with data entry.
• Excellent attention to detail.
