Job Overview: The entry level Supply Chain Coordinator is a member of the Supply Chain team responsible for maintaining demand forecasts for assigned categories/brands, ensuring optimal inventory levels, and facilitating effective communication with various teams. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, this role plays a part in ensuring accurate data is delivered not only within the supply chain team but throughout the organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Demand Forecast Maintenance & Inventory Transactions:
- Maintain demand forecasts for assigned categories/brands to achieve the right inventory mix based on product/sku types.
- Perform daily inventory transactions for domestic purchasing in the ERP system.
- Assist in reconciling inventory and/or invoice discrepancies with warehouse, payables team, and procurement sources.
- Coordinate with overseas (China-based) purchasing team to procure additional inventory under the direction of the Supply Chain Manager.
2. Collaboration and Customer Service:
- Coordinate with Sales and Customer Service Teams to respond to demand generation inquiries, providing exceptional customer service.
3. Data Collection and Analysis:
- Collect data from multiple sources (PowerBi, IFS-ERP, MS Excel) and package it in a usable format for purchasing/inventory decisions.
4. Reporting:
- Create weekly reports of open supply orders in MS Excel and communicate with outside brand partners to address possible delays.
- Create monthly reports for management, showcasing inventory balances and inbound supply schedules for new product launches.
5. System Management:
- Assist the Supply Chain team in implementing and training on new demand & requirements planning software, both internally and with our China supply chain team.
- Use data from brand partners to keep the ERP system updated, ensuring data integrity across the supply chain to include product phase-out effective dates.
6. Order Management:
- Manage order timelines and expectations from PO creation to warehouse delivery for domestic brand procurement.
7. Logistics Management:
- Manage inbound logistics as needed to support business requirements.
8. Continuous Improvement:
- Actively participate in the Corporate Continuous Improvement program, contributing ideas for process improvements within the scope of control.
9. Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 0-1 years’ experience in buyer/planner role (international or domestic)
- Familiar with procurement of varying volume and seasonality of demand.
- Professional communication/customer service skills in difficult situations
- Ability to work well within a small team to support a fast paced/evolving supply chain environment.
- Comfortable with ERP software and gathering data from multiple sources (software platforms and email/files)
- Ability to Identify, collect, analyze and report data and utilize it in decision making.
- Flexible with a mix of transactional and project analytical/research-based work
- Detail Oriented with a high degree of organization
- Able to work independently and must possess excellent prioritization and multitasking skills
- Ability to build new processes and revise current processes for continuous output.
- Utilizes CI principles to analyze the source of a problem and provides creative and effective solutions
