Role: Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Engagement Marketing Manager
Reports to: CDO Chief of Staff, Head of Marketing and Operations

Position Overview
The CDO is seeking a D&I Engagement Marketing Manager to serve as the strategic and tactical lead for the CDO's internal and external engagements. The CDO is responsible for leading the strategy, communication, partnerships, and outreach related to Genentech's diversity and inclusion mission. Key Responsibilities:
The D&I Engagement Marketing Manager will report to the CDO Chief of Staff, Head of Marketing and Operations. Responsibilities include: lead internal and external engagements for the Chief Diversity Officer and leadership team, drive Genentech's visible presence at
national diversity conferences, develop partnerships with key D&I industry organizations. The D&I Engagement Marketing Manager will collaborate closely with CDO team members,cross-functional partners, public affairs and external groups to develop D&I messaging around all three strategic pillars, presentation materials and coordinate engagement logistics. Engagements include internal events as well as external partner events such as virtual programs, sponsorships and award ceremonies.
Key Accountabilities:
Develop D&I communications materials in close collaboration with the internal and external communication departments.
Tailor messaging, presentations and key talking points to resonate with audiences as well as align with event themes (ranging from science-oriented topics to broader diversity and inclusion discussions including health equity).
Support Chief Diversity Officer by writing speeches, talking points, and scripts for internal and external events, newsletters, videos and internal and external meetings
Attend events and partner directly with the Chief Diversity Officer to evolve and improve engagement activities.
Collaborate with Public Relations and Legal to prepare Chief Diversity Officer and leadership team for upcoming media engagements and internal executive meetings.
Acquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of the company's policies, principles, strategies, and communication efforts related to D&I to assist in developing content and speaking notes.
Partner with members of senior leadership including the C-suite, Legal, Brand as well as external agencies.
Coordinate with Chief Diversity Officer's EA to manage, schedule and track the dates of speaking engagements. Create updates on engagements for executive leadership as well as for the marketing and operations weekly newsletter
Manage logistics of the Chief Diversity Officer's presence and participation in external events, including communications with event organizers on logistics, draft briefing documents with talking points and assist with preparatory meetings
Manage Chief Diversity Officer appearances at in-person events, as well as scout event locations and coordinate gathering of all on-site event information
Maintain understanding of and insights about the D&I space-trends and developments.
Adhere to Genentech's corporate and D&I brand guidelines.
Build positive relationships during projects. Identify needs of the Chief Diversity Officer and other partners.
Improve the engagement operations through more efficient procedures and systems.
Provide administrative support for the Chief Diversity Officer as needed, including in assisting with ad-hoc projects, communications, presentations, reporting, etc.

Implement end-to-end marketing campaigns while managing audience
segmentation, channel strategy, content marketing strategy (earned, owned, and paid), post-campaign follow-up, and measurement. Ensuring successful
collaboration with the People & Culture (Human Resources) Talent Acquisition team to drive our CDO D&I talent Social Media strategy, pull through and impact on job seekers to the careers.gen.com site.
Create memorable experiences that drive engagement. You will have the creative license to conceptualize and implement employee and candidate activations that drive engagement and support our recruitment needs. You will have the opportunity to create impactful activations for hiring needs, cultural moments throughout the year, award recognitions, and more.
Measure and report on key performance indicators from our channels and campaigns to make informed decisions about channel spend and content strategy to maximize results.
Develop a strategy for key partnerships and programming with relevant industry associations and organizations that will enable access to and engagement with experienced talent from underrepresented groups.
Create collateral materials and resource guides that equip, enable and activate the business to engage with external underrepresented talent communities.
Contribute to conference strategy in partnership with cross-functional business teams increase employment brand awareness, and engagement and drive
applications of diverse candidates.
Monitor career sites such as Glassdoor for employee and prospect feedback and develop creative ways to address any issues.

National Presence: Drive our large-scale corporate presence at strategic national diversity conferences and events.

Remain abreast of market trends and technologies that optimize intended conference strategy outcomes.
Develop a strategy for the development of key partnerships and programming with relevant industry associations and organizations that will enable access to experienced talent.
Create collateral materials and resource guides that equip, enable and activate the business to independently engage with diverse talent communities.
Influencing & Inspiring/Collaboration
Strategize with the CDO, People & Culture (Human Resources), Recruiting, Corporate Relations, Strategic Events Services and Businesses to align on engagement strategies to increase representation. Enlist the Business to engage with diverse talent communities before, during and after each event using innovative enablement tools.
Interface with our Social Media/Talent Marketing vendor to create impactful content and messaging that will appeal to diverse audiences.
Solutions-oriented/Results-driven
For key conferences, lead cross-functional business teams to execute and deliver outcomes that result in increased brand awareness, engagement and drive applications of diverse candidates.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree required; Graduate Level or higher degree is a plus, preferably in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Foundational knowledge of leading D&I industry practices preferred, with passion for D&I as a business and societal imperative
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in writing, editing and project management
3 years of experience in Digital Marketing.
Multicultural marketing or talent marketing is a plus.
Leading cross functional teams without "formal authority" and delivering recruiting and programmatic outcomes through others.
Track record of working with senior executives with a "high touch" approach to inspire, influence and deliver effectively
Strong collaboration and learning agility
Must be able to travel up to 50%
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $149,000 - $277,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
