Job Description:
We are looking for a leader with demonstrated experience as a change agent, influencer and thought leader on DEI issues. The Diversity and Inclusion/ EEO Program Manager will report to the Director, HR Services with the responsibility of implementing strategies and procedures to advance organizational change, foster a positive and inclusive work environment for everyone, and ensure that diversity, equity, and inclusion considerations are incorporated into the decision-making processes.

- Provides strategic direction and expertise to support programs to develop diverse talent and integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion in programs for hiring, retention, rewards, and engagement.
- Acts as a change agent, influencer, thought leader and coach on DEI issues internally as well as the impact of external events on the workplace.
- Provide positive leadership in a team-based approach in the areas of problem identification and resolution on issues of harassment, discrimination, and disability.
- Assist with internal EEO investigations when necessary.

Assists with the development of policies and programs to attract, retain and promote a diverse workforce for the organization including but not limited to:
- Working with Talent Acquisition to develop strategies to strengthen our recruitment of diverse employees.
- Participate in interview process for manager level positions and above positions to ensure unbiased input.
- Serve as the ERG ambassador to ensure ERG efforts and goals align with General Dynamics and BIW’s overall D&I strategy.
- Identify proactive opportunities for increasing awareness, knowledge, and education of all employees in EEO/AA and conduct/administer required training when appropriate.
BS in Human Resource Management or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Required/Preferred Experience:
- Hands on experience designing company policies like anti-discrimination and equal employment opportunity.
- Work experience as an HR Manager, HR Consultant or similar role preferred.
- Proven understanding and awareness of diversity, equity, and inclusion issues required.
- Awareness of the full range of diversity and cultural identities.
- 3 years of professional experience focused on diversity concerns preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations pertaining to EEO/AA, Ethics, ADA requirements, labor and human right legislation required.
- Experience with EEO/AA and Ethics case management and conflict resolution preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills required.
- Participation in seminars about diversity in the workplace a plus.
- Proven ability to work with all levels of a company.
- Ability to manage and deal with conflict and stressful situations.
- Strong leadership, supervisory, and strategic planning skills required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and computer-based software.
- Experience in quantitative and statistical analysis and data management.
- Proven ability as a team player and team leader within a company.
