Financial Analyst

Overview

The Program Finance Analyst performs financial management and program cost control functions associated with the COLUMBIA design contract. The Program Finance team serves as a critical business partner by providing analysis, insight, and guidance to enable strategic program decisions and achieving bottom-line results. The individual filling this position will prepare, analyze and evaluate financial information associated with the COLUMBIA program for budgeting, forecasting, pricing, planning, invoicing and control; review/approve purchase requisitions for budgeted expenses; monitor and report on the CLB program’s performance to financial plan, providing detailed variance analysis and updated quarterly forecasts.

The responsibilities include:

• Support quarterly EAC (estimate-at-complete) development
• Perform bi-weekly financial and labor performance analysis
• Communicate variances to Program Office Management and department directors
• Prepare monthly CDRL cost reporting requirements for internal and external customers
• Support adjustments to manpower (staffing/FTE) plan on a bi-weekly basis
• Assist with program budget maintenance and funding forecasting
• Shop order control
• Monitor subcontractor contracts including requisition and purchase order review/approval process
• Perform cash management of government funding and provide monthly analysis to Cash department
• Support special projects and management requests as needed

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 0-3 years of related financial experience
• Experience reporting and analyzing data in a Manufacturing environment 
• Internal candidates must be from a department outside of the Operations organization (Casciano/Gabriel)

Preferred:

• Prior Electric Boat internship or co-op experience
• ERP experience in Oracle

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas) and Power Point
• Analytical, problem-solving and decision making skills
• Able to meet critical deadlines
• Strong communicator (oral and written)
• Able to perform independently and work in a multi-disciplinary, team-oriented environment
• Highly motivated, self-starter, good organizational skills and keen attention to detail

Preferred: 

• Knowledge of government contracting and labor/material estimating
• Knowledge of EIA-748 standard for Earned Value Management Systems, EIA-748 Intent Guide and EB’s Earned Value Management Systems
• Working knowledge of Power BI
