Overview
Electric Boat Corporation (EB) is seeking a Program Representative for the Availability Support Group within Planning Yard Fleet Support Engineering, Department 495, to serve in a full time position supporting commissioned U.S. Navy submarines with the planning and execution of maintenance availabilities. This position is based in Groton, CT. Department 495 is within EB’s Life Cycle Support directorate, and is responsible for non-nuclear technical support for commissioned VIRGINIA, OHIO, and SEAWOLF Class submarines for maintenance planning and execution, in areas of drawing and material support, configuration management, and certification. The Availability Support Group fulfills a key role in providing this support to multiple US Navy stakeholders during ship maintenance periods at Naval Shipyards and maintenance facilities.The Program Representative’s primary responsibility will be to support the task planning, scheduling, tracking, and reporting of work associated with the development, execution, and certification of submarine fleet maintenance and availability support. This position may require occasional travel to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (ME), Norfolk Naval Shipyard (VA), Washington Engineering Office (DC) and potentially other locations in the conduct of quality assurance for drawings and liabilities and interaction with customers which includes representatives from EB, NAVSEA, Naval Shipyards, and the maintenance community. The successful candidate will also be responsible for:
The development and management of reporting metrics
Interfacing with design and engineering personnel to track product workflow, enable process improvements, and reporting of metrics
Assisting with the development, coordination, and execution of meeting agendas and minutes in support of fleet support tasking
Participate in tasking progress reviews and scheduling of product deliverables
Assisting with configuration management and quality assurance of drawings, technical variance documentation (TVD), and liabilities applicable to commissioned submarines
Qualifications
Required:
Associate degree or higher
2 plus years of work experience in a professional setting/office environment
Active DoD Security Clearance or ability to be granted a DoD Security Clearance
Internal candidates must be from organizations outside of Operations (Casciano/Gabriel)
Preferred:
Bachelor Degree or higher with focus on business applications or technology related fields
Experience in US Navy submarine design, engineering, construction, submarine overhaul and repair, and/or operational experience onboard US Navy submarines
Experience with EB and US Navy drawing and configuration management databases
Familiarity with AWPs, TGIs, material procurement and certification process and procedures
Familiar with submarine maintenance and modernization products (i.e., eLARs, eDFSs, ShipAlts)
Demonstrated ability in multi-tasking and technical project management
Proficiency interfacing and presenting to NAVSEA or government stakeholders
Experience/interest with artificial intelligence and/or machine learning applications
Any familiarity with business processes and/or data management software such as: MS Access, Tableau, SAP, TeamCenter, SharePoint, ARTEMIS, Oracle, ELCADD, 3G, 7G, CITIS, ATIS, or MRP
Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) with ability to work with Excel pivot tables, graphs, and formulas
Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail and quality
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to interact with diverse internal and external contacts with discretion
Familiar with the fundamentals of planning and project management
Address issues with independent judgement, creativity, and sound decision making
