What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistician position at General Dynamics Information Technology?
Contributes to the completion of specific logistics projects.
Conducts supplier audits, assessments and evaluations to ensure conformance to client's quality, cost and delivery performance standards.
Performs demand forecasting, distribution planning, supply chain modeling and design.
Resolves supplier quality issues and provides appropriate support for desired supplier capability.
Identifies logistics opportunities for process improvements, inventory reductions, and cost savings.
Writes and edits the logistics policies and procedures.
Responsibilities Include:
- Identifies material and logistic requirements for ship alteration and repair
- Research types and quantities of equipment allowed aboard ship
- Develops Provisioning Technical Documentation (PTD)/Logistics Management Information (LMI) Data Packages utilizing the Interactive Computer-Aided Provisioning System (ICAPS)
- Reviews Statements of Prior Submission (SPS) with Change packages for adequacy and accuracy.
- Develops PPLs to add maintenance significant items that are not currently listed on APL/AEL’s.
- Reviews alteration drawings to identify APL/AEL equipment managed by NSWCCD-SSES that was installed or removed and develop APL/AELs as required.
- Reviews Engineering Data for Provisioning (EDFP), and where required, develop PPLs using the ICAPS for APL/AEL worthy equipment.
- Responsible for entering CDRL’s in PCCN tracking
- Exporting weekly data dumps
- Conditionally accepting, cancelling, and updating PCCN’s into Tracking
- Participates in meetings to support logistics objectives.
- Participates in special projects as required.
Required Qualifications Include:
- Highschool Diploma or GED
- 4 years of experience
- Understanding of supply and procurement systems procedure for requisitioning and purchasing material
- In-depth knowledge of shipboard systems maintenance and operation/supply support
- Experience with the Configuration Data Manager’s Database-Open Architecture (CDMD-OA)
- Possess current SECRET clearance, or ability to obtain one
