Job Posting for Associate II Quality Assurance at General Dynamics Land Systems US
In this Quality Engineer position, the successful candidate will function as a quality representative for the manufacturing of various military vehicle programs, including but not limited to the Abrams Main Battle Tank.
The selected individual in this position will function as/or perform:
JSMC quality representative interfacing with GDLS division program, Manufacturing & Customer Support (M&CS) division staff and customer program staff at all levels.
Develop and implement program quality plans, programs and procedures using quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts and six-sigma tools and analysis.
Perform root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
Manufacturing and quality expert for rectifying and resolving manufacturing issues at the Joint Systems Manufacturing Center (JSMC) location.
Review, analyze and report on quality discrepancies related to assembly, processes, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems.
Interface with manufacturing, engineering, customer, supplier and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met.
Position Requirements:
Associates Science Degree in Engineering
1-3 years relevant experience
Must be at least 18 years of age and a US citizen.
Must be able to obtain unescorted access to the facility through the vetting process as administered by the Department of Army Police.
Must be able to obtain / maintain DOD Secret security clearance.
Demonstrated proficiency in communication skills (written, verbal, computer) required.
Proficient knowledge of ISO standards
Ability to coordinate, organize and assign work
Must be able to work independently or with minimum oversight to address responsibilities.
Must have good time management skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead and work collaboratively in a teaming environment with unionized workforce to support customer and manufacturing requirements.
Experience in statistical analysis of data trending desired.
Working Conditions & Environment:
Using ladders and stairs to climb into/onto vehicle structures.
Climbing, walking, bending, kneeling, standing and stooping.
Lifting up to 50 lbs.
This position requires working both in office and manufacturing floor environments.
Working in and around dust, fumes, oils, mists, adhesives and in areas with a high noise volume.
Working in hot and cold environments.
