Overview
The Assembler prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials as needed to complete the task. The Assembler is responsible for verifying correct quantities of completed components and quality checking all parts.
Major Position Responsibilities
- Reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed
- Assemble and install parts such as; bolts, clips, screws, cements, or otherwise fastens parts together
- Operate small machines such as arbor presses and riveting machines to perform force fitting or fastening operations
- Work at different workstations as production needs require
- Collect all material and equipment needed to begin the process
- Report on issues, malfunction or defective parts to department lead
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
Basic Qualifications
- Ability to read/understand blueprints and drawings
- Basic familiarity with assembly tools and ability to read unit of measurements
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
- Need to be detail oriented and must be able to communicate
- Comfortable with working in a fast pace environment
- Previous Assembly experience preferred
- GED or High School diploma
