Major Position Responsibilities

This position will be located at the new GD-OTS facility located in Mesquite, TX. 

 

 

SUMMARY: Designs, implements, and monitors a variety of human resource programs. Anticipates and plans for long-term human resource needs and trends in partnership with business management. Responsibilities are within the Human Resources Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Implements human resources programs by providing human resources services, which may include recruiting and staffing, training and development, employee relations, and affirmative action/equal employment opportunity compliance.
  • Completes a variety of personnel transactions and maintains associated records.
  • Collects and analyzes internal and external information in order to compare the organizations HR practices to those prevailing in the market.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable labor laws or regulations.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring indirectly.
  • May also have responsibility for Recruitment including: 
    • Perform full cycle recruitment including sourcing, screening, coordinating interviews, obtaining feedback, negotiating offers, and pre-employment paperwork and compliance across multiple business lines and geographies within the United States.
    • Collaborate with hiring managers to determine staffing needs, develop sourcing and recruitment strategy.
    • Participate in recruiting events to include national and college level career fairs.
    • Develop and maintain professional relationships with university and college placement offices; community organizations; associations; technical school placement offices; and other relevant groups as a source of qualified applicants who are knowledgeable; if not representative; of multi-cultural groups in the United States.

Basic Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or Equivalent Combination of Relevent Education and Experience
  • 5-7 years prior experience in a similar position
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Business or Human Resources Discipline

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to build collaborative relationships. Decision-making skills. Interpersonal skills. Judgement.  
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • For Mesquite: 
    • Knowledge using direct sourcing tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, talent pooling and industry relevant job boards.
    • Ability to quickly learn an applicant tracking system. 
    • Manufacturing industry background is desired but not requried.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

 

Preferred

  • Experience with start ups, such as project planning, and establishing business processes, management systems, and work instructions is desired. This is an exciting opportunity to create the business processes, systems, and culture to stand up a high performing manufacturing operation.

 

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. 
  • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

 

Travel Requirements

  • Less than 25% travel likely.
