GDIT is looking for a full time AWS Cloud Migration Manager to work on reviewing existing system and develop plans to migrate systems from AWS public cloud to AWS Government cloud. This resource will play a key technical role working with a team of very technical staff to plan the migration to a new system. This person will play a project manager throughout the life-cycle of the project and will have significant interaction with key client personnel. This includes taking a lead role in the cloud architecture and engineering practice. Other activities include participating in design meetings with other team members to conduct research and evaluation of AWS cloud based software-related technologies and products.
Analyzes customer requirements and provides highly innovative technical expertise on cloud cluster computing techniques, technologies, and related cloud architectures.
Provides knowledge for the research, evaluation, and deployment of advanced cloud computing systems and large data analytics.
Provides knowledge for data integration and migration efforts, including mapping schemas and defining domain specific ontologies
Provides knowledge for the development of highly complex data technologies, algorithms, and applications.
Provides guidance and leadership to less-experienced cloud development personnel.
Works closely with the program manager and under the direction of the program manager, consult with executives and customers to deliver complex cloud development solutions.
Supports business by developing technical and business solutions.
Research current and emerging technologies and process methodologies and proposing changes and tailoring where needed.
Assess the system and business process architectures currently in place and works with staff to recommend improvements.
Ensure technical architecture teams deliver efficient and effective system solutions to support business goals and objectives.
Develop, enhance and maintain established service design procedure and process by applying process frameworks and methodologies.
Prepare and present test plan, technical presentations, and analyst briefings.
Identify customer requirements, analyze alternatives and conduct product recommendations related to software, platform and network configurations.
Provides expert guidance and leadership to less-experienced colleagues.
Maintains architecture documents and deliverables to keep them up-to-date.
Required Qualifications:
BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 15 years of experience
Desired Qualifications:
Prior experience working migration projects
10 years technical experience in architecture/design
4 of Experience and understanding of Infrastructure as Code, Automation, and Orchestration
4 of Experience in AWS implementation to include core AWS resources (VPC, EC2, S3 etc.) and advanced AWS resources (lambda, cloud front).
Experience in setting up AWS Cognito Identity and Access management tool and ADFS and providing access to integrate applications via API Gateway.
Knowledge and experience in building APIs within AWS and API Transit Gateway
Experience with Agile methodologies and tools. Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment tools and processes using Jenkins, GitHub and Jira tools.
Experience with all phases of a project lifecycle development process (analysis, design, code, test, migrate)
Ability to provide production and maintenance support and prior government consulting experience
