SUMMARY:
This role is to plan, manage, and coordinate the design, installation, and connectivity of computer systems and network infrastructure to ensure the stable operation of the organization's IT assets. This position is responsible for the operations of the network infrastructure and the computer assets that the whole company relies on. This position is expected to be able to be hands to perform daily tasks as well as project manage and bring junior staff up to speed. Helping the Director of IT plan for the future of the company is important as well.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Implement best practices, perform on-going capacity reviews, and tool acquisition/development in support of infrastructure activities.
- Perform analysis of network needs and contribute to design of network architecture, integration, and installation.
- Managing Phone Systems
- Maintain network hardware and software, including servers, peripherals, network switches, firewalls, and wiring.
- Work with consultants to ensure that the computer system platform provides sufficient computing resources to deliver the desired level of business performance.
- Coordinate with other departments to understand and meet their business needs.
- Evaluate network hardware and software requirements and capabilities and make recommendations.
- Monitor systems and optimize the performance.
- Initiate recovery action after system failures.
- Establish and control system access and security.
- Provide support to and trains users in local area network administration and usage.
- Monitor and maintain network stability, collect and analyze network and memory utilization, and install and test software upgrades.
- Manage computer operation scheduling, backup, storage and retrieval functions.
- Coordinate third-party maintenance for network hardware, software and telecommunication services.
- Develop or establish strong relationships with service providers.
- Negotiate and contract with consultants, technical personnel and vendors for services and products.
- Prepare and maintain documentation of network configurations and cabling layouts of corporate and warehouse locations.
- Develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery plans.
- Train users in the operations of some of the base business applications.
- Responsible for the running of the helpdesk and routing of tickets and managing SLAs.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES:
- Understand how to manage the relationship of a data center.
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365: Outlook, Excel & Word.
- Management and Configuration of an RDS environment.
- Working with a VPN product.
- Managing two-factor authentication.
- Ability to perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analysis for systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and correct complex server/network problems utilizing various network software and hardware tools.
- Experience with Intrusion and Malware Protection such as Trend Micro.
- Possess excellent communication skills including verbal, written and interpersonal.
- Interact well with employees at all levels within the organization and be able to build and maintain positive working relationships.
- Willingness and ability to be flexible and adapt to changing job requirements.
- Knowledge of various network hardware components such as switches, routes, and the roles they play in data transport.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy while meeting deadlines.
- Must be self-directed and possess a high level of personal organization and drive.
- Experience with Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) ERP a strong bonus.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- 5 years of relevant experience
