Job Description Pontiac Stamping produces sheet metal parts for multiple assembly plants. The Maintenance Planner will be responsible for planning, scheduling, tracking and kitting maintenance, repairs, & projects for 5 press systems & Flexible Fabrication. In this role you will Lead skilled trades people when called upon to do so. This role also requires you to be aware of National and Local Agreement between General Motors and the United Auto Workers Union. The work is of a technical nature and requires you to use independent judgment within the limits of Global Manufacturing Systems, focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). Selected candidates will have the opportunity to learn new skills as well as influencing the development of manufacturing processes. Responsibilities: Coordinate press repairs and upgrades which include kitting materials and estimating resources needed to complete repairs Enforces safe work practices as the highest priority and implements objectives for ergonomics, health/safety, and housekeeping Implement & drive tablet usage in maintenance department and plan training for skilled trades and salary workforce Provide technical assistance to production and maintenance departments Manage maintenance projects including new, replacement, operations improvements, and periodic repair and replacement Supports the Throughput Improvement Process by representing engineering at TIP meetings and related activities to improving the plant's performance goals Provides technical support, direction, and training to support personnel/Skilled Trades within the organization Investigates systems and equipment problems and provides technical input in problem resolution Develops cost estimates and plans for project activity Maintains proficiency in their field Support GMS implementation initiatives Maintains good working relationships with peers, hourly employees, union, management, supplier community, and interfaces with necessary support functions outside of the Plant Develops and monitors planning timetables and projects schedules Coordinates and communicates the development of changes to improve conditions for the manufacturing processes Input into the establishment of plant budget for Manufacturing Engineering Ensures long term and cost-effective maintenance of equipment and facility Exercises technical direction over and assists in supervision of skilled trades as required during project implementation Develop and conduct presentations for all level of management Handle a variety of special assignments Support launch of new programs Additional Job Description Required Qualifications: Ability to work overtime as required Proficient in the application of fundamental electrical/mechanical concepts Ability to interpret blueprints and Engineering Drawings (mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic) Ability to plan & coordinate job plans (EM, CM, PM) through Maximo database Kit parts for equipment repairs & projects.
