This position is required to be onsite full time.
At GM environmental, we are geared towards developing creative solutions to complex environmental challenges. As the environmental engineer supporting the Romulus GPS plant and nearby Customer Care and Aftersales (CCAs) facilities, you will have the opportunity to work autonomously to lead the air, water and waste compliance programs while being responsible for developing programs to reduce environmental risk. You will work collaboratively with diverse groups to create and implement best in class, sustainable solutions to promote environmental compliance and sustainability across these sites. We are currently looking for talented individuals who have a passion for the environment and who want to help make these facilities a leader in environmental compliance and sustainability.
As an Environmental Leader, you will be working in an exciting manufacturing environment and be a part of a team fulfilling GM's Vision of Zero, Zero, Zero. As a valued member within the Sustainable Workplaces team, your role is focused on providing technical expertise, developing strategies and looking ahead for the future success of GM. Qualifications
Education

Must have a Bachelor's degree with a major in engineering or related sciences, preferably with an emphasis on environmental engineering.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
Skills
- Regulatory knowledge. Experience in Air Permitting, Storm Water Permitting, Wastewater Pretreatment Permitting and/or Hazardous Waste Generator Requirements.
Experience

Experience in environmental engineering or related science, preferably within a manufacturing operation
- Basic knowledge of the automotive manufacturing processes is preferred.
