We are adding a Retail Training Specialist to our team. Our ideal candidate is a creative and experienced retail trainer with a passion for learning and training others for success.


As the Retail Training Specialist under the leadership of the Director of Operations, you will develop and deliver a wide range of retail training programs which align with Generations Bank strategic plan. The Retail Training Specialist will work closely with Retail Management to meet the training and development needs for the retail staff, including department and position specific needs.

Essential Duties


  • Design and deliver retail training related programs including retail staff and management
  • Deliver exceptional training to retail staff by maintaining a thorough understanding of course content and materials
  • Schedules, conducts, and facilitates blended learning programs, classes, seminars, training sessions and workshops
  • Schedules and monitors required compliance and customized retail training within the BAI training platform
  • Designs retail bank training related documents, materials, and presentations
  • Review and edit training content for consistency and design and identify improvement opportunities through proofreading will be successful and meets department standards
  • Develops specialized training or coaching as needed
  • Develops and spearheads a train-the-trainer program
  • Creates and maintains a monthly/annual retail training calendar
  • Provides ongoing follow up training throughout the year
  • Provides one-on-one training as needed
  • Research and evaluate outside training resources and speakers to enhance the banks training curriculum
  • Evaluates training performance throughout the learning process through class participation, skills practice, testing and other means
  • Conducts voluntary surveys on the training content and the trainer
  • Classroom management, pre-class preparation, post class debrief; coach and deliver feedback to participants; escalate concerns to Chief Strategy Officer and employee's direct supervisor, as warranted
  • A strong knowledge of bank policy and procedures
  • A strong working knowledge of the Universal Banker systems and processes

o Teller policies and procedures

o New Account policies and procedures

o Cross-selling bank products and services

o Sales and relationship management

  • Assist the Recruitment and Development Specialist with new hire orientation.

Education, Skills and Abilities Required


  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience with a minimum of 2 years retail banking/training and development experience
  • Excellent presentation skills, superior communication including both written and oral
  • Excellent customer service with both internal and external customers
  • Skilled training facilitator
  • Ability to follow direction/instruction as well as work independently, as warranted
  • Ability to maintain flexibility in a changing environment
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and escalate issues
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills is essential
  • Must maintain confidentiality of bank customers, employees, and bank information
  • Must be able to travel to all bank branch locations and training events as needed
  • Ability to resolve problems using sound judgment

About the area: The Retail Training Specialist position is based at our Corporate Offices in Rogers, AR. Rogers is one of the best places to live and work in Northwest Arkansas. The area is home to the University of Arkansas. Northwest Arkansas has so much to offer with its lakes and parks, museums, rich history, top rated schools, shopping, restaurants, live outdoor concert venue, and our own Minor League Baseball Team.
