The Ideal Candidate
The Manager, Compensation leads the development, implementation and administration of compensation programs, policies, and procedures in support of business strategies. Manages common compensation functions, including job evaluation, survey participation, salary structure development, incentive plan design, pay program administration and other associated initiatives.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Leads annual compensation planning including but not limited to execution of base salary, bonus, long term incentives, and all related communication and administration.
- Manages salary pay structures to include job evaluations, developing and maintaining formal job grades and salary ranges, and job analysis.
- Provides thought leadership to the business on compensation issues including new hire packages, performance recognition, incentive plans, retention arrangements and overall compensation structures.
- Establishes compensation budgets and guidelines for all divisions.
- Responsible for providing all compensation related elements for annual proxy and other relevant compensation disclosures.
- Monitors, interprets, and ensures compliance with a variety of state and federal compensation-related laws.
- Responsible for data collection and analysis processes for market, pay equity and other compensation studies.
- Collaborates with HRIS and Payroll teams regarding compensation system design, enhancements, upgrades, testing and maintenance.
- Manages participation in a variety of salary surveys, the analysis of related data and ensures market data is available.
- Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness and competitiveness of compensation programs and processes, keeping abreast of latest trends and best practices.
Experience and Skills You'll Need to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or Human Resources
- 5 years recent direct experience in Compensation, including responsibility for managing, implementing, and communicating compensation programs
- Compensation certifications (CCP, SPHR) preferred
- Excellent analytical and computer skills
- Strong knowledge of compensation related legislative and regulations, market/industry trends, compensation theories and practices
- Strong understanding of interdependencies in program and system design, legal, tax and financial implication of all compensation elements
- Ability to operate in a rapidly changing environment with competing priorities, energized by an appropriate sense of urgency
- Ability to review, analyze, and interpret data, write formulas, create pivot tables and graphs, and provide conclusions and recommendations based on analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong project management and organizational skills
