Elementary School Principal

Genesee Country Christian School, a Pre-K through 8th grade Christian School located in scenic Geneseo, NY, is seeking a school principal. The principal is responsible to the School Board for the school’s operation including but not limited to: administration, finances, curriculum, faculty, discipline, and facility maintenance. Candidates must be Christian and commit to the school’s Statement of Faith, faithfully attend and support a local church. The ideal candidate would have both academic/school administration experience as well as classroom teaching experience (3-5 years of elementary teaching experience desired). The candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, and demonstrated leadership ability/experience in school or church, and possess the spiritual maturity, academic ability, and leadership qualities to lead the school. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree, experience and/or education in school administration, and experience in a Christian school. Genesee Country Christian School is seeking a building principal for the 2024-2025 school year.

Applicants must have a bachelor’s in elementary education as well as 3-5 years of classroom teaching experience. Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, experience and/or education in school administration, and experience in a Christian school. Job duties include, but not limited to:

• Hire, evaluate, and encourage staff and faculty, to include classroom observations
• Lead weekly faculty meetings
• Plan and conduct weekly chapel for the student body
• Supervise curriculum development
• Assist teachers with student discipline
• Plan and conduct teacher in-service days (Bible integration, philosophy of Christian education, disciplining/discipline, general staff development)
• Prepare an annual budget
• Attend all school board meetings and submit a monthly report to the school board
• Proof all reports, documents, and mailings before they are sent/submitted
• Oversee daily operations and maintenance of the building and grounds
• Teach part-time classes as needed
• Oversee and attend all fundraising events
• Oversee enrollment, re-enrollment, and student retention efforts
• Meet with current and prospective parents (Give tours of the building, evaluate applications for admission, etc.)
• Speak at area churches to promote the school
• Maintain the foyer bulletin boards and seasonal displays
• Prepare a monthly newsletter
• Supervise standardized testing
• Coordinate community service projects and arrange guest speakers
• Coordinate and oversee all special programs and events (ie. Focus study, Christmas program, Parent Work Night, etc.)
• Develop and maintain a positive relationship with all donors and prospective donors
• Cultivate a positive working relationship with all stakeholder groups (students, parents, staff, faculty, school board, donors)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
