What are the responsibilities and job description for the Histotechnologist position at Genesis Biotechnology Group?
Medical Diagnostic Laboratories (MDL) is a CLIA certified clinical laboratory with multiple state licensing, specializing in state of the art, automated DNA based molecular analysis of a variety of chronic and infectious illnesses. MDL specializes and performs Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) with a larger menu of testing available in the field of infectious disease.
Our main theme of research is in the field of Gynecology, Infectious Diseases, Infectious Arthritis, Tick-borne Diseases, Mycology, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). MDL is currently expanding and is looking for Full-Time reliable Histotechnologist in our Hamilton, NJ facility. This person will Perform technical preparation of histology slides from tissue sections for microscopic examination.
Essential Functions:
- Performs grossing
- Performs histology tasks such as embedding, cutting, staining, and cover-slipping of slides for microscopic examination.
- Performs special stains, Immunohistochemistry stains.
- Examines slides under microscope to ensure quality of tissue preparation meets laboratory requirements.

Job Qualifications: General Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s) required Experience with:
- Grossing
- Tissue processing, embedding, cutting, and staining techniques.
- Laboratory operations and procedures.
- Safety regulations

- Ability to sit, stand, walk, repetitive motion
- Proficient visual and audio skills.

- May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and fixed/frozen tissue.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in science
- 0-2 years related experience
