What are the responsibilities and job description for the Port Captain Marine Operations Inland position at GENESIS ENERGY, LLC?
This is a management position responsible to ensure vessels are crewed, operated and maintained (as permitted by vessel crew) in accordance with regulatory requirements, company standards, and customer expectations. Key Duties:May involve travel to multiple locations with extended stays away from the homeport. Enforce Genesis Marine’s Safety Management System for the operation of a safe and environmentally sound fleet. Ensure all vessel personnel comply with regulatory training requirements.Assist in the development and adherence of the operational budgets.Investigate vessel damage, product spills, and personal injuries.Ensure all proper documentation is completed accurately.Supervise licensed and unlicensed personnel and crew management development.Inspect vessels to ensure in good working condition.Arranges for coordination of assist tugs, pilots and crew care as necessary.Provide technical expertise for specialized jobs in the field.Required Skills, Experience, and Education:High School or GED Minimum 10 years’ experience in the maritime industryMinimum 5 years as a Captain.
