Summary
The Audit Director works closely with the Vice President of Internal Audit to complete the annual risk assessment, audit plan development, audit execution, staff recruiting and development, leverage technology and complete Board reporting. Contributes to the achieve the goals of the Internal Audit, Compliance Monitoring and Issue Management programs.
Responsible for conducting/managing internal audits of complex and critical internal processes and activities within the organization. Conducts objective examination and evaluation of internal activities identifying key risks, documenting the results, and developing corrective action plans.
Leads the team responsible for assessing regulatory compliance within Genesis business functions for our internal and external stakeholders. Develops and implements constructive resolutions to improve compliance, controls and efficiencies while balancing the risk and cost.
Supports and participates in Internal Audit and Compliance and Control Governance Team “CCGT” initiatives intended to coordinate coverage, improve internal control and promote compliant operations.

- Support Internal Audit’s governance related action plans for risk assessment, annual planning, audit execution, audit reporting, staff recruiting and development, audit technology, and Board reporting.
- Lead the annual risk assessment planning process to develop the audit plan; and ensure alignment with the organizational risk profile.
- Conduct and lead the execution of complex and critical audits, reviews, and special projects. Drives the audit planning process by identifying key risks and assessment of project scope alternatives to identify an appropriate testing approach.
- Maintain, enhance and lead the Compliance Monitoring program to meet the needs of our stakeholders, improve efficiency through automation and build working relationships based on trust. Supervise the Compliance Monitoring program.
- Develop and maintain relationships with senior and operational management to ensure good working relationships and effective communications.
- Maintain up-to-date working knowledge of laws and regulations affecting our business and assist in ensuring that the compliance audit program effectively addresses all applicable legal and regulatory risks.
- Maintain knowledge of the risks, activities, regulations, competitive environment, market conditions, and current events that impact our organization and industry.
- Analyze findings, determine “root causes”, formulate opinions, and develop recommendations for identified issues.
- Professionally communicate verbally and in writing. Ensures communications are conveyed in a timely manner.
- Prepare audit reports summarizing results and presents audit findings to senior management along with recommendations for improving internal controls, operating efficiency and the adequacy of financial records and recordkeeping.
- Participate in governance, departmental and major business initiatives. Supports achievement of organizational goals by providing advice, consulting services, active participation and post-mortem evaluations of initiatives.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Eight or more years internal audit experience with at least five years in a management role.
- Bachelor’s degree required with an emphasis in business, information technology, finance or accounting preferred.
- Good stakeholder management skills, able to foster collaborative working relationships and influence management at all levels.
- Strong organizational, analytical, critical thinking and communication skills.
- Solid understanding of the credit card business and the related regulations. preferred
- Ability to administer and manage the Compliance Monitoring program and related staff.
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead a cohesive team, and mentor staff.
- Skilled at handling multiple projects simultaneously and exhibits a sense of urgency.
- Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to plan, manage and perform audits.
Certifications – one of the following is required
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
