Role Summary As the Centre Leader you are responsible for the local leadership and management of a centre and the delivery of high quality patient centred services. This role requires outstanding leadership skills in liaising, influencing and negotiating with staff at all levels of the organisation. You will need to demonstrate the ability to prioritise and manage time in a demanding environment and consistently role model our vision and values. You will also drive a culture of continuous improvement, delivering exceptional patient centered services. Some of your key focus areas in the role: Manage all operations and lead all centre-based staff in accordance with best practice indicators in patient care, quality, safety, people and financial management. Lead and/or be heavily involved in a portfolio of work that will assist with the improvement of performance and standardisation across GenesisCare. Identify and/or develop key internal and external relationships, opportunities for future service provisions and potential referrer or doctor partnerships. Act as a representative of the GenesisCare purpose, values and strategy. Reporting lines: As the Centre Leader, you report directly to the Operations Manager or an otherwise agreed senior leader such as the General Manager. You have direct reports: Unit Leaders Lead or Senior Nurses/Nurses Lead or Senior Patient Services Officers/ Patient Services Officers Reporting lines and direct reports may change from time to time in line with the requirements of the role. Your key responsibilities: Practice Leadership Patient Care Contribute to a patient centered approach to service, taking responsibility to lead this at the centre level as well as to provide input into broader service delivery initiatives. Build, implement and maintain a positive patient experience at the centre. Use regular satisfaction surveys as the basis to gain, interpret and communicate feedback to the team to help shape the patient experience. Manage staff levels at the centre as needed and during times of leave to ensure the patient experience is not compromised. People Drive a dynamic and innovative culture within the centre/team where individuals inspire each other to continuously deliver exceptional outcomes and care for our patients. Lead, promote and contribute to an effective multidisciplinary team at the relevant centre and across the practice. Lead and manage all people management requirements including but not limited to: Recruitment and selection of clinical (excluding doctors) and non-clinical staff, including accurately completing employment agreement templates. Performance review and management. Assist and support all staff in research and development opportunities. Provide support to the other Centre Leaders with the ability to cover during leave periods. Design, plan, implement and manage efficient and effective centre workflow and workload to ensure Doctors, Physicists, Radiation Therapists, Nursing and Patient Services staff are effective and productive in their day-to-day roles and particularly that Doctors are supported by centre staff during peak periods. Manage centre staffing levels to match projected activity within the Centre. Compliance Lead the accreditation of the centre and contribute to the Practice’s accreditation under the NSQHS undertaken by the chosen accrediting body and any other regulatory compliance. Manage health and safety at the centre including regular inspections and training, either by directly undertaking such task or through appropriate delegation to an appropriate member of staff. Ensure all centre staff are aware of, trained in and adhere to GenesisCare policies and procedures and health and safety and compliance requirements: Local instructions; Clinical protocols and procedures; and Hospital policies and procedures (where co-located and as necessary). Ensure the centre complies and is appropriately licenced to provide services. Maintain local adherence to all contracts such as leases, equipment maintenance, service agreements (and associated KPI’s) and insurances. Ensure the practice is compliant with regulatory requirements such as equipment, Centre and staff registration and licensing in liaison with the nominated Radiation Safety Officer and Operations Manager. Manage the implementation of all equipment replacement including but not limited to training, change management, protocols/procedures and resourcing. Practice Management Oversee and manage centre specific operating and capital budgets in line with business plans, working closely with the GM and Operations Manager to ensure KPI’s and targets are met. Working with the Operations Manager, take part in analysis of weekly and monthly activity data reporting including forecasting and review of the monthly P&L. Execute month end processes and audits. Extract, analyse, draw conclusions and report on relevant clinical performance (incident management, waiting times, adherence to protocols etc.) using data. Identify efficiency and/or effectiveness improvements related to local centre planning, implement changes as required. Provide a forum to review and continuously improve centre’s performance. Actively support and champion GenesisCare and specific oncology initiatives to drive culture, quality, efficiency and access, taking on a leadership role within particular projects where required. Oversee and lead the implementation of any relevant projects or improvement opportunities e.g. Lean implementation, ensuring appropriate project and change management process are in place and implementation is done in consultation with key national and state leads. Portfolio Management Contribute to the coordination and leadership of the practice by managing a designated portfolio of work as delegated by the General Manager or Operations Manager. Business Development Manage relationships across key external and internal stakeholders. Identify local service gaps as areas of opportunity for future service provision. Support and encourage current and potential Radiation Oncologists and referrers through active relationship management, service and engagement initiatives. Act as GenesisCare liaison as required i.e. speaking with specialists who refer patients to our doctors regarding referral management, capability alignment with needs to inform business development. Assist with the integration of new greenfield centres or brownfield developments. Your key working relationships: As the Centre Leader, you need to develop strong relationships with the following internal parties: General Managers, Operations Manager and Centre Leaders National job family leads Relevant state-based job family leads Oncology operations team and other Shared Services partners All Doctors (relevant to state) and local clinical and clerical staff Related external specialist doctors and healthcare staff In addition, the role will need to develop strong external relationships with various individuals/agencies/key stakeholders e.g. suppliers, landlords, State and Federal Government departments. Experience: Proven ability to manage cross functional multi-disciplinary teams. Demonstrated understanding of clinical and/or business performance metrics. Previous oncology and/or healthcare experience. Demonstrated capacity to successfully perform in a complex healthcare environment. Demonstrated acumen in people and process change management and implementing process improvements. Demonstrated understanding and experience leading clinical change and innovation initiatives. Proven ability to manage internal and external stakeholder relationships. Graduate level qualifications in a relevant area – a either Health care or business related. Demonstrated knowledge and application of health care standards, and relevant legislation. Proven workforce leadership and health care management experience (Desirable). Post Graduate qualifications in business or equivalent (Desirable). Other requirements for this role: Travel when required to other sites and/or leadership meetings.
