LPN Correctional Nurse

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse to join our healthcare team at a corrections facility in Belleville, IL for 13 weeks. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate care to patients in various healthcare settings, ensuring their well-being and comfort.

Duties:

- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and medical information
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Assist with patient assessments and evaluations
- Provide wound care and other nursing interventions
- Educate patients and their families on health maintenance and disease prevention
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation

Skills:

- Proficient in inhalation therapy techniques
- Experience in long-term care or correctional facilities
- Knowledge of common ailments and their treatments
- Ability to work with people with developmental disabilities
- Understanding of infection control protocols
- Familiarity with medical systems and electronic health records, such as Athenahealth
- Competency in IV insertion procedures
- Strong physiology knowledge for patient assessment and care
- Willingness to engage in travel nursing opportunities
