The Data Scientist II will use statistical methods and machine learning to create predictive models, analytics, and data features which will be used to mine value from operations data; participate in cross-functional high-level projects, as well as provide guidance to engineering staff.

Position Overview

What You’ll Do
- Work with business leaders and subject matter experts to evaluate project benefit and feasibility.
- Assist with organizational data collection, cleaning, and maintenance.
- Mine data to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and gaps in data quality and availability.
- Derive an understanding of data significance through ad-hoc analytics.
- Create new data features based on existing data to improve modeling.
- Develop machine learning models to facilitate operational cost improvement efforts.
- Assist with deployment of algorithms using developed machine learning models.
- Create understandable synopses of developed models and algorithms.
- Present findings, improvements, and cost savings to business leaders.
- Teach and guide engineering staff in localized machine learning projects.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.
- Four-year degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 3-6 years of experience creating machine learning models and algorithms.
- Proficiency in Python and related data science packages.
- Proficiency in SQL and data management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Advanced degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including data visualization and presentation.
- Experience with Snowflake, Dataiku, Spark, and R.
- Advanced modeling in areas of NLP and LLMs.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, GIT, and deployment pipelines.
