Overview
We're looking for a Music Therapist to join our team.
You will report directly to the Executive Director or Administrator. You will be responsible for providing music therapy services to patients in accordance with the interdisciplinary plan of care. The music therapist assesses the patient, develops a plan of care in coordination with the IDG, while documenting and continually evaluating the proper course of treatment in order to provide optimal care to the patient.
- Follows appropriate standards of practice according to the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) and the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT).
- Educates staff members on the appropriate use of the music therapy program and encourages referrals from all clinical staff and volunteers.
- Completes the music therapy assessment for patients and devises a treatment plan, contributing to the IDG plan of care.
- Provides music therapy visits to patients in accordance with the plan of care.
About You
- A bachelor’s degree or higher from an American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) approved program
- A minimum of one (1) year of music therapy experience required. Healthcare setting experience preferred
- Current license to practice Music Therapy in the state of requested employment.
- CPR Certification
- Current certification with the CBMT Board as a MT-BC (Music Therapist Board Certified)
- Knowledge of terminally ill patients and their families along with understanding of hospice
