Summary Job Description
- Assist with accounting research projects and provide support to HQ and subsidiaries.
- Perform research, analysis, and documentation on complex accounting issues including implementation of new accounting pronouncements, derivatives, goodwill impairment testing, and special projects.
- Assist with technical accounting due diligence and purchase accounting for M&A transactions.
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC reporting including M&A and new pronouncements.
- Reports to Technical Accounting Director.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities
- Prepare accounting position papers and other related documentation for internal stakeholders and external auditors.
- Provide technical accounting review and support to the subsidiaries to ensure compliance with US GAAP.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including FP&A, consolidation, SEC reporting, treasury, tax, and counterparts at our US and international subsidiaries.
- Ad hoc technical accounting tasks/memos/presentations.
- Support certain quarterly and year-end SEC reporting responsibilities.
- Promotes teamwork between finance groups and departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- 2 years’ experience researching and preparing accounting analyses for complex transactions.
- Public accounting or related experience (Big 4 a plus).
- CPA or CPA eligible preferred.
- Demonstrate technical knowledge and understanding of GAAP.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication (verbal and written), and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and deadlines.
- Team player, positive attitude, and willingness to jump in to help.
