Role Overview:
The Maintenance Associate Technician services and maintains facilities, equipment and systems to maximize operational performance and ensure safe, reliable and clean working environment for employees and visitors. This role provides timely maintenance, upkeep, inventory and preventative service to company locations/facilities, departments, vehicles, and equipment necessary for business continuity. This role evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability and yield.

This role is responsible for performing and ensuring all work/diagnostics/repairs/installations are done in accordance with Company safety standards, procedures and in compliance with appropriate local, state, federal and all other government regulations.
- Perform maintenance tasks and assist other Maintenance Technicians, HVAC Technicians, and Grounds with general maintenance duties (e.g., low voltage electrical, mechanical, and HVAC).
- Assist with repair, install, modify, renovate, and/or remove equipment, machines, and vehicles owned or operated by the Company
- Assist with maintenance of other building and program equipment as needed.
- Assist in ensuring Company grounds reflect a safe, professional, and responsible environment at all times; assist with snow removal including plowing and shoveling sidewalks and parking lots
- Provide set-up assistance and support for program and campus events
- Maintain inventory including preventative maintenance supplies; complete accurate and timely documentation in accordance with service requests and inventory system procedures, as well as all other established protocols
- Gather adequate information to confidently understand, troubleshoot, and efficiently respond to on-call inquiries in accordance with policy, procedures. Consult with Maintenance Technicians and Maintenance Lead as needed
- Provide service and support that meets (and when possible exceed) expectations of internal and external customers. Consult with Maintenance Technicians, departments and end-users to understand needs/challenges/opportunities. Collaborate with team and Maintenance Lead to design, fabricate and/or source equipment/parts/solutions. Assist to provide options and recommendations that include cost evaluations and effectiveness considerations
- Work as one team-collaborate with team members to help in the learning and development of new skills and to ensure work orders and project requests are completed within a timely manner
- Technical diploma in a post-secondary building trades program OR High School diploma or equivalent with at least 1 year of maintenance experiences in a facilities, manufacturing and/or distribution environment.
- Valid driver’s license
- Certificate forklift driver certification required. If absent, must have ability to obtain forklift certification.
- 1 year of related occupational experience in commercial, industrial, or educational facilities.
- Knowledge of mechanical theory including bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyor, construction and operation
- Experience with preventative maintenance such as, but not limited to, belt replacement, lubrication, bearings, filters, leaks, excessive noise, valves, coils, air compressors, and generators.
- Experience with non-craft maintenance such as, but not limited to, light bulb replacement, exit lighting, ceiling tile, low-voltage wiring, snow removal, and other building related preventative maintenance procedures
- Ability to work on-call every 5th-6th weekend
- Ability to read and interpret building drawings and blueprints.
- Ability to read and interpret low voltage wiring diagrams and devices.
- Ability to monitor and operate building automation system.
- Basic knowledge of boilers, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance skills as related to commercial/industrial buildings.
- Basic skills in operation and maintenance of tools and equipment related to facility maintenance.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as snowplows and forklifts.
- Ability to model integrity through personal accountability, self-awareness, ethical behavior, quality standards, and sustainable practices.
- Willing and able regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.

- 30% Travel (typically includes daily travel between worksites within 20 mile radius).
