Summary:
The Janitor is responsible for safely maintaining internal and external facility conditions in accordance with company standards and procedures.
Job Duties:
- Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums hallways, stairs and office space
- Empties trash and garbage containers throughout warehouse and offices
- Dusts, cleans and washes dock doors
- Dusts, cleans and sweeps specific locations and aisles in warehouse; mops as needed
- Cleans offices, rest rooms and break room
- Paints fire lanes and food lines
- Inspects fire extinguishers
- Maintains walkways, sidewalks and parking lot
- Performs all work in accordance with safety procedures
- For food accounts, reports food safety problems to senior management to initiate action
- Other duties as required or assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) preferred
- Minimum 3 months of related experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Environment:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, and to talk and hear. This position will be required to stoop, kneel, and crouch as it relates to completing the above job duties. The employee may be required to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds. This position will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold including climates consistent with outside weather
