What are the responsibilities and job description for the PURCHASING AGENT position at Geokon Inc?
Description
Under the direction of the Purchasing Manager, coordinate the activities involved to procure goods and services for Geokon. This includes raw materials, equipment, tools and supplies, electronics and items produced to Geokon Designs and specifications. In addition, working with scheduling teams to make sure all products needed are available for production/shipping to meet customer need by date.
Essential Functions
- Review MRP buy advices for accuracy
- Review daily delivery receipts
- Create and issue purchase orders
- Provide needed information to scheduling
- Provide accounting with necessary information to process invoices
- Discuss defective or unacceptable goods with Quality dept and vendors
- Follow up with vendors to expedite the delivery of goods
- Review purchase orders and contracts for conformance to company policy
- Contact suppliers to obtain quotes
- Assist with purchasing systems and procedures
Requirements
High School diploma
1 to 3 years' experience (highly desired)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
- Must be able to communicate with ease on a daily basis to both internal customers (sales, quality, production and scheduling team, electronics shop and shipping and receiving team) and external customers such as suppliers and service vendors. Communication is regularly conducted written and verbally
Salary : $36,800 - $46,600
