George Fox University's Cultural Enterprise is looking for a highly motivated manager of events and programs who is a dynamic, hands-on, passionate person with a strong commitment to excellence in event management that embraces the mission of the Cultural Enterprise and George Fox University.


About the Job:

The Cultural Enterprise is home to the College of Humanities, the College of Education, the School of Theology, and the Honors Program - all uniquely positioned to shape the faith, character, and Christian worldview of our students. This candidate will help us manage, facilitate, and host excellent events and programs that will make George Fox University a beacon of Christianity and culture in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.


Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working closely with the Assistant Director of the Cultural Enterprise to establish a blueprint for all programs and events.
  • Organizing all aspects of event planning, management, and execution within the Cultural Enterprise including budgeting, scheduling, venue, and vendor liaison, and on-site coordination.
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, communications, and operations, to integrate event initiatives into broader campaigns and platforms.
  • Overseeing and collaborating with Cultural Enterprise departments in respective events.
  • Cultivating and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, sponsors, and vendors to drive strategic partnerships.
  • Evaluating the success of events through post-event analysis and attendee feedback to leverage insights to inform future event strategies.
  • Engaging with Cultural Enterprise Student Fellows in their scope of participation in events
  • Participating with the Cultural Enterprise team by way of meetings and the life of the Cultural Enterprise
  • Ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and safety requirements that are aligned with GFU policies.
  • Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
  • By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
  • Demonstrating awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc. and works well with a variety of people.
  • Other duties as assigned.

We're looking for candidates who have:

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of 2 years of event planning experience, as well as experience working in higher education.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both with groups and individuals; strong teamwork orientation.
  • Experience initiating and maintaining collaborative relationships and alliances with campus stakeholders (such as academic Deans/Directors, MarComm, University Advancement, and Alumni Relations) in order to develop new community partnerships.
  • High level of organization with the ability to be innovative and seek out new efficiencies for work systems; strong attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Positive and professional attitude with an openness and desire for personal and professional growth
  • Budget management and project management skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel; demonstrated ability to master Google tools and learn new web-based technologies.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, especially evenings and weekends of events.
  • A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a church. In addition, employees agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.

Job information:

  • Hours Per Week: 20 hours per week, 12 months of the year
    • May be required to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Primary Work Location: Newberg Campus
  • Working Conditions: Physical requirements are those of a normal office environment.
