Summary of the Position: The Accounts Receivable Accountant is responsible for accounts receivable financial functions of George Junior Republic and affiliates.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop an annual development strategy for George Junior Republic in Pennsylvania, Preventative Aftercare and George Junior Republic in Indiana.
- Understand local and national initiatives that directly or indirectly affect the organization.
- Engage in community efforts to increase community interest and involvement in the organization.
- Oversee Development Assistant to make certain all donations are appropriately tracked/entered into Salsa, donations and expenses are accurately recorded on spreadsheets, and review the monthly Cash Receipt Journal by date and by fund, Pledge Status Report and other required monthly financial reports and detail.
- Research grant opportunities and contact funding sources to support George Junior Republic and Affiliate programming and/or capital projects.
- Write and submit grant applications.
- Coordinate staff members as it relates to completing assigned grant duties.
- Complete all grant reports and audit requests.
- Maintain grant access online through SAM.
- Ability to design data tracking systems for grant or solicitation purposes.
- Manage online fundraising constituent tracking system.
- Plan and implement all fundraising activities including annual appeals, capital campaigns, scholarship donation requests, etc.
- Identify prospective corporate and individual donors on a local and national level.
- Manage all mailings and appeals.
- Plan events as agreed upon by the CEO, including the annual Veterans Day luncheon.
- Coordinate various aspects of graduation, including locating a graduation speaker.
- Work in collaboration with the Advancement Coordinator/Youth Advocate and the Development Assistant to schedule various campus or community based fundraising events.
- Write reports to share with the board, CEO or as requested by other organizational entities/grantors.
- Write a variety of articles for print and digital media.
- Oversee monthly departmental financial reports.
- Have a general understanding of financial needs of GJR and its affiliates.
- Complete annual EITC application and renewal reports.
- Oversee and manage the use of EITC funds.
- Appropriately track and report on EITC donations.
- Serve on pertinent community groups/boards, as needed.
- Engage and present the mission of GJR to various audiences.
- Engage with applicable organizations/individuals with a vested interest in the organization and/or the mission.
- Work with ABC Director to market program to outside groups, confirm appropriate insurance coverage, develop marketing materials, collect fees and solicit use of the course.
- Oversee PACTT to make certain tasks are completed in a timely manner and goals are accomplished.
- Review and approve all activities of the Advancement Coordinator/Youth Advocate. This includes PACTT, Employee Support League, Campus Advisory Council, and youth events and activities.

REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. Grant writing certification or fundraising certification preferred.
Licensure

Years of Experience
Experience in fundraising and grant writing.
At least three years’ experience supervising staff/programs required.
Experience in marketing and development required.
Computer Experience
All Microsoft applications, ability to learn new applications as needed/required. Salsa/Fundraising Software Systems.

Must be able to multi-task; be organized, engaging, positive and willing to adjust priorities based on presenting needs of the organization.
