Job Overview

The Associate Director of Public Sector Alumni Services serves the career planning and professional development needs of alumni pursuing careers in the public sector through advising, programming, online resources, workshops, and networking. They work closely with the Assistant Director of Public Interest Employer & Alumni Outreach to engage alumni in the public sector to build connections for other alumni and current students, as well as to expand job opportunities for both; and coordinate outreach at alumni events with the Director of Alumni Services toward ensuring that resources, programming, and workshops meet the needs of alumni.

Work Interactions

Reporting to the Assistant Dean of OPICS, and working very closely with the Director of Alumni Services in OCS, the Associate Director collaborates with advisors in both OPICS and OCS in order to connect current students with alumni who can serve as informal advisors and possible leads to jobs. As well, they work in concert with the Assistant Director, Public Interest Employer & Alumni Outreach, to ensure the implementation of a seamless alumni services and outreach plan.

Qualifications

J.D. or equivalent degree
5 years of public sector experience and/or relevant experience advising/coaching/mentoring individuals interested in public sector careers
Knowledgeable about different career paths in the public sector market and transitioning from the private to the public sector
Extensive knowledge of LinkedIn and other networking resources
Knowledge of/interaction with Georgetown Law and alumni
Knowledge of resources to identify public sector organizations and jobs
Experience creating and/or expanding a program/project
Demonstrated experience working as part of a team and in cross-office collaboration

Work Mode: Hybrid (1 day on campus; 4 days telework). Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University.
