Program Specialist, Edunomics Lab - McCourt School of Public Policy - Georgetown University

The Edunomics Lab , a research center in the Georgetown's McCourt School of Public Policy, studies education finance, and provides timely, relevant, and insightful analysis to inform education policy and practice. Since its establishment at Georgetown in November 2012, the Edunomics Lab has received additional grant and contract funding to complete research vital to strengthening American education system, the need for which is especially pronounced during this pandemic induced economic turmoil.

Job Overview

The Program Specialist has a role essential to ensuring the Center's completion of critical grant and contract milestones and to create thorough, rich, and insightful work that tackles difficult and systemic problems in K-12 education.

They are involved in a range of functions critical to operations of this bi-coastal, dynamic and growing research center, and coordinate portions of research projects managed by the Principal Investigator (PI) and support general operations.

Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation

Reporting to the Associate Director, the Program Specialist interacts with consultants, the PI, funders and stakeholder audiences, via videoconference, in person, e-mail, and over the phone.

Reporting directly to the Associate Director, the Program Specialist is key to rounding out the Center team and ensuring successful completion of grant milestones critical to advancing its work. They

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred
2 to 5 years relevant work experience - particularly office administration
Preferred candidates demonstrate familiarity with U.S. education system
Fluent with Excel and Word
Clear communication with internal team well as with key audiences (e.g. contractors, funders)
Willing to work independently within a team
Have strong organizational and time

Work Mode: On Campus at Edunomics Lab's Office, Seattle, WA. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University. The Program Specialist is a term position, dependent on future external funding.
