DCH serves as the lead agency for Medicaid, oversees the State Health Benefit Plan (SHBP) and Healthcare Facility Regulation, impacting one in four Georgians.

DCH employees are based in Atlanta, Cordele and across the state.

DCH is currently seeking a qualified candidate for the Performance Improvement Specialist position, within the Performance & Care Management Office of the Medical Assistance Plans (MAP) Division. The MAP Division, which accounts for approximately three billion dollars annually of the State's budget, is dedicated to advancing the health, wellness, and independence of those they serve by providing access to quality care and resources statewide to approximately 1.7 million Georgians.  This is a hybrid position that requires in-office and remote work with the approval of your supervisor. Your days of frequency in the office can change at any time during your employment based on the business needs of the organization.

 
Under the supervision of the Quality Performance Improvement Manager, the Performance Improvement Specialist supports the organization's quality performance and management platform across care management/clinical practice programs, other community-based innovative programs and service offerings.


Job Responsibilities
 
Participates in meetings with Managed Care Organizations as point of contact for specific PI projects.
Provide technical support to Managed Care Organization in the conduct of PI projects.
Document internal audits and other quality performance improvement activities.
Prepare routine PI performance updates and reports.
Review performance improvement methodologies implementation such as PDSA Cycle, Outcome Focused, etc.
Develop and facilitate trainings to assist network provider agencies in completing quality PI projects.
Supports ongoing compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
Recommend and support the Manager Quality & Performance Improvement with PI projects.
Performs other related duties, as assigned.


Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of related experience OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Four years of related experience OR Associate's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Five years of experience, Two years of which in a position directly related to the area of assignment OR Two years of experience required at the lower level Complnc Specialist 2 (RCP061) or position equivalent. Note: Some positions may require a certification or licensure. Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all of the following skills /experience):

Clinical experience working with PI projects
Working knowledge of compliance, ethics, federal or state programs
Experience within Medicaid programs
Experience with Data Analysis
Experience in reporting and monitoring performance improvement programs
Knowledge of managed care and fee-for-service delivery models
Prior work experience working with a managed care or other healthcare organization
