Georgia-Pacific Gypsum, LLC is seeking to fill an Electrical Technician position at our Blue Rapids, KS facility. This position adds value by finding and correcting problems within the facility before they cause a process shutdown or equipment breakdown. The successful candidate will be willing and able to perform routine preventative maintenance and emergency or schedule repairs on plant equipment, machinery, or systems that contribute to mining and converting gypsum into a variety of specialty, agricultural and building products.
Compensation starts at $29.71/hr with opportunity for quarterly bonus. We are also offering a $5,000 sign on bonus for this position!
A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
- Troubleshooting and repairing electrical/electronic equipment, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems
- Performing routine and preventative maintenance on electrical equipment and machinery internal and external to the plant and Inspecting equipment for potential downtime causes
- Installing new equipment
- Recording maintenance and repairs in a computerized system and completing reports and work orders on time to keep accurate records
- Collaborating with operations to identify and prioritize maintenance needs
- Adhering to all safety regulations and procedures including performing proper lockout/tag out procedures and actively participating in the safety program
- Cleaning up all areas of responsibility to maintain a safe work environment
- Working in a team environment with fellow employees, supervisors, and managers
- Following any other job-related instructions and perform any other job-related duties requested by supervisor including but not limited to, assisting mechanics or production operators as needed
- Assisting Process Controls Engineers and Maintenance Technicians as needed
The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
- Electrical maintenance experience in a commercial, industrial or manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical trouble shooting skills
- Experience reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Willing and able to work any shift, holidays, weekends, overtime and on call as needed
What Will Put You Ahead:
- Journeyman Electrical license or certification or an Associate degree in Electrical Maintenance
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA 70 standards
- Three (3) or more years of experience as an Industrial Electrician
- Experience troubleshooting electrical controls, PLC's, A/C and D/C motors, motor controllers and drives.
- Experience working with robotics
- Experience working with 480 & 4160 volt systems.
- High school diploma or GED
