The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is the state agency that focuses solely on policies, programs, and services for people with mental health challenges, substance use disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, or any combination of these. As Georgia’s public safety net, DBHDD operates six field offices and five hospitals throughout the state within three program areas: behavioral health, developmental disabilities and hospital services.

Job Summary:
Role and Responsibilities
The Regional RN Manager provides support and oversight of the practice of nurses within assigned regions and is responsible for supporting regional nurses with compliance of generally accepted practice standards in the areas of:
- Nursing Practice (oversight compliance)
- Assessment/Planning/Evaluation
- (Nursing) Diagnosis
- Evaluation
- Clinical Consultation (technical assistance) to include but not limited to review of requests and calculation of billable nursing hours statewide; statewide oversight of HR Surveillance/SCO populations; Maintenance and update of the SCO database
- Conduction/Participation of state symposium conducted on behalf of OHW
- Conduction/Participation in field office-provider forums for the purpose of review of individuals of heightened clinical risk and guidelines of standards of practice
- Participation in the development of statewide training to support revised or newly generated clinical policy/procedures
- Standardization of Practice
- Regulatory standards

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Requires Georgia RN licensure
Requires an Associate degree in a healthcare related field
Must have knowledge of multidisciplinary approach to treatment, evidenced-based practice guidelines and developmental, intellectual and mental health disorder services; federal and state requirements pertaining to behavioral and developmental health services; quality assurance and outcome measurements and have program development experience
Prior clinical experience working in or with DD/ID individuals/settings/processes is preferred
