Job Purpose: The function of the Clinical Physician Assistant (PA) is to provide comprehensive medical care for urology patients with the collaborating attending physician of record. The PA will work with the clinical team to provide optimum care for patients assigned to them. The goal of the PA role is to provide seamless care in order to achieve optimal outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients, enter patient care orders, perform procedures. and provide education to patients.
- Perform and document a complete history and physical examination.
- Enter appropriate information and orders into the NextGen system.
- Order and obtain necessary diagnostic tests including imaging studies and laboratory tests.
- Follow through on interpretation of results and communicate with attending physician.
- Request consultations from other services and provide appropriate work up and follow through on recommendations, including communication to primary team.
- Be accessible. available, and visible to staff to address patient concerns.
- Document pertinent patient information in the EMR including, but not limited to progress, event, or transfer notes.
- Participate in on-call coverage rotation to include as relevant to scheduled hours.
- Assist with the evaluation and management of patients in the clinical setting as needed.
- Deliver care in a professional manner in accordance with GU policies, procedures, and practices.
- Perform minor in-office procedures to include catheter placement, suprapubic tube changes, pre-tibial nerve stimulation, l&D's, penile injection teaching, and testosterone pellet implants.
- Perform urology procedures as required.
- Work to achieve efficient, cost effective, and high-quality patient care.
- Participate in Quality Improvement and Performance Improvement activities.
- Assist with orientation of new APP staff.
- Act as clinical resource and participate in education of fellows, residents, and medical students.
- Serve as preceptor/role model for PA and/or NP students if needed.
- Adhere to schedule guidelines and fulfill scheduled hours of work.
- Provide informal/formal education for staff, patients, and families.
- Conduct meaningful discussions with patients following their initial consultation with the urology physician.
- Actively identify and address barriers to care that might keep the patient from receiving timely and appropriate treatment for their diagnosis.
- Connect patients with resources, healthcare, and support services in their communities if needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATION:
Education/Experience:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited PA or NP program
- Must have strong patient assessment, patient management, documentation, and organizational skills
- Certificates/Licenses/Registrations - Licensed.
Driving Requirements: Must possess a valid State of GA Driver’s License
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to stand, sit and walk on a regular basis
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Mostly indoors, medical office, safety guidelines.
Salary : $105,000 - $115,000
