Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and support mining studies at all levels, including due diligence and tradeoff studies and preparation of technical reports
- Mentor, guide, and motivate junior staff in the areas of project performance, cost, schedule management, client expectations, and career development; work with employees to correct deficiencies.
- Manage challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to help Geosyntec expand its current practices and capabilities through business development and client management.
- Oversight, preparation, review, and management of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals; and
- Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties.
Education and Licensure
- Bachelor's degree in engineering in earth science engineering, with preference mining engineering (required)
- Advanced degree the same. (preferred)
- Professional registration (i.e., P.E.) (preferred)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- At least 8 years (10 years preferred) of experience in the mining industry; exploration, operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
- Experience in engineering consulting. (preferred)
- Experience in mine design and mine planning, cost estimation and project economic analyses, project risk analyses, project management. (required)
- Strong writing skill and ability to prepare, engineering technical reports in compliance with industry standards (NI 43-101, S-K 1300, JORC) for reporting mineral resources and mineral reserves estimates. (required)
- Experience in project budget, cost estimation and proposals writeups. (preferred)
- Experience using mining/geology commercial software, preference MinePlan (Hexagon) Surpac (Dassault) or Deswik. (preferred)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
