Summary
The Testing Analyst (TA) works with others across our business units and IT to assist and understand the elicitation and analysis of business requirements. The TA uses that knowledge to determine optimal methods to test functions and systems to ensure they meet the requirements. They will develop, document, and execute detailed Use Case Scenarios and Test Scripts as requested for various projects and change requests. The TA must stay informed on continuing evolving testing methodologies and tools and will become a functional expert on one or more applications and business areas such as quoting websites, financial/general ledger, bureau/ISO reporting, forms applications, policy, agency and claims management systems, etc. Detail oriented, ability to communicate clearly and excellent collaboration skills are essential to success in this role.
Essential Functions

Works closely with others across IT and business units company-wide to develop an accurate understanding of business processes in multiple functional areas.

Participates in discussions to identify and analyze business needs. Reviews and analyzes business and functional requirements to ensure test cases are thorough and aligned with the requirements.

Designs and documents detailed use case scenarios and test plans for the work assigned. Performs thorough testing. Documents all testing failures, anomalies, issues, questions, etc. and communicates those clearly to technical staff and Business Analysts.

Works closely with Business Owners, Leads, Supervisors, BA’s and others to ensure all issues identified during testing are fully resolved.

Assists with system performance testing as requested.

Reports full QA testing results to IT management and project team.

Collaborates and coordinates with IT technical staff and Business Analysts on Change/Release Management for all application system, production change, implementation and documentation as assigned.

As requested, assists in the development and presentation of training for new applications or program change requests used by end users.

May perform other related duties and special projects as assigned or requested.
Minimum Requirements
Education, training, and experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Software Engineering or related field and/or equivalent combination of High School Diploma/GED, training and work experience.

Three or more years of business or Information Systems experience preferred.

Ability to interface well with both technical and non-technical staff.

Demonstrated technical aptitude, good problem solving skills and a customer service orientation.

Working knowledge of hardware and software applications to include Windows applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Knowledge of testing methodologies and automated testing tools preferred.

Ability to handle multiple tasks with accuracy, able to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines.

Detail oriented with very strong organization and time management skills.
