The Controller oversees the accounting operations of the dealerships assigned by supervising the Office Managers to ensure efficient cash management, a smooth flow of all transactions, clean accounting records, and recording of all transactions in compliance with the Company’s accounting processes and internal controls. Will ensure that the assigned dealerships maintain an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and maximize profit. Will also be tasked with developing periodic financial reports to aid the company in its financial planning and analysis process and financial statement consolidation.
Requirements:
Visit assigned dealerships monthly and as needed
Review key accounts and reconciliations for assigned stores monthly
Quarterly balance sheet reviews
Mentor, train and supervise dealership Office Managers
ERP System champion and admin
Implement and inspect processes and controls at assigned dealerships
Assist with budgeting, forecasting and analysis of financial information
Maintain an effective cash management system
Ensure accounting staff are trained and cross trained
Coordinate information to the external auditors
Processes insurance claims and liability insurance
Reports significant budget variances to the CFO
Other tasks assigned by the CFO
Qualifications:
Associates or Bachelor degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related industry preferred
Minimum 3 - 5 years of progressive and relevant accounting experience – Automotive Industry Preferred
Experienced with business applications and accounting software.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with guests, vendors, and staff
Ability to deal with confidential information appropriately
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and duties simultaneously
Strong attention to detail and interest in accuracy
Highly professional and dependable
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Strong computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
