Responsibilities and Duties:
- Continuously analyze and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase overall productivity.
- Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure products meet specified standards and participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
- Provide input for the creation of production schedules, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality products while managing resources effectively.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities, assess production costs, and recommend strategies for cost reduction without compromising product quality.
- Collaborate with design and R&D teams to provide input on manufacturability and design for manufacturing (DFM) principles.
- Oversee maintenance and calibration of manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal functionality.
- Create and maintain comprehensive manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process flowcharts.
- Ensure all manufacturing activities adhere to safety protocols and regulations, identifying potential hazards and implementing preventive measures.
- Other reasonably related duties.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD and Solid Edge/Solid Works
- Proficiency in CAM software and ability to interpret design drawings
- Demonstrated Six Sigma/Lean manufacturing principles and Statistical Process Control (SPC) implementation.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems to include item, Bill of Material (BOM) and Sequenced router set-up.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing for extended periods and lifting moderate weights.
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- Experience with advanced manufacturing technologies such as Controls, 3D printing, CNC/Manual machining, Metal Fabrication, or robotics.
- Adaptability to changing manufacturing environments and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
- Comfortable working with various manufacturing equipment and machinery.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
Supervision Required: Minimal.
