Function as a business partner with plant and financial management to effectively manage and control the local business. Responsibilities include financial & nonfinancial reporting, business analysis, forecasting, cost accounting, preparation and analysis of capital expenditure requests. Leadership and supervision for plant logistics and Material management. The position will report directly to the Senior Director, Controlling and Finance Molded Glass worldwide dotted line to the plant manager and will liaison with division financial staff regularly.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES (other duties as may be assigned)
Prepare and manage monthly reporting of results, rolling forecasts, annual operating plan, strategic planning, and benchmarking at the plant level.- Analyze and accurately report current month’s financial results to the plant, sales, and division management in accordance with corporate format and time requirements (in close cooperation with Accounting).
- Analyze and initiate corrective measures within the framework of budget deviations for revenues, cost, working capital or capital expenditures
- Prepare financial analysis on plant efficiency and key performance indicators such as throughputs, downtime, yields, rework, labor etc and present numbers to plant management
- Submit all financial reporting on a timely and accurate basis.
- Manage the investment request procedure and ensure economic evaluation of local investment projects are in time and on budget.
- Develop and implement controlling tools to support above analysis by utilizing SAP
- Conduct Ad hoc analysis and reporting.
- Assist in the completion of special projects.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES (some, or all may be assigned)
- Understand tasks completed on a daily basis by the Plant Accountant to fill in for the position as needed.
- Supervise plant production planning, materials management and logistic
- Support of internal controls at the plant for operations, sales and finance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Management
- 4-6 years as a group controller and plant controller in a manufacturing environment with an emphasis on cost accounting, reporting and variance analysis.
- Strong background in capital expenditure controlling, reporting and flexible plan cost accounting preferably as an analyst & knowledge of IFRS
- SAP systems experience mandatory.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated leadership as part of a cross-functional plant management team.
- Proven ability to perform complex analysis and turn this into clear and easy to understand presentations for plant management
- Strong intellectual capabilities to understand and analyze the value chain of the business using contribution margin analysis and value stream mapping tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound planning and organizational skills.
- High level of proficiency in ERP/MRP systems.
