Position Overview:
As the VP of Operations you will play a critical role in driving the operational efficiency and strategic growth of Gesture. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead and oversee the company's operations across multiple business units, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with our long-term vision. This is a high-impact role that requires a strong understanding of the e-commerce and logistics-delivery industry, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to navigate a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to shape the company's strategic direction, define operational objectives, and drive performance across all areas of the business.
2. Operational Excellence: Oversee day-to-day operations, optimize processes, and implement best practices to ensure operational efficiency, scalability, and continuous improvement.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster effective collaboration and communication across different teams and departments, including engineering, product management, marketing, sales, finance, and HR, to drive alignment and achieve organizational goals.
4. Growth Strategy: Develop and execute strategies to drive growth and expansion, including market entry, partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, and new product/service launches.
5. Performance Management: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and establish performance metrics to monitor and evaluate business performance. Implement performance management systems to drive accountability and ensure results.
6. Resource Allocation: Optimize the allocation of resources, including budget, personnel, and technology, to support business priorities and achieve operational excellence.
7. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate operational risks, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and industry standards. Develop and implement business continuity plans to safeguard operations.
8. Talent Development: Attract, develop, and retain top talent. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. Mentor and coach direct reports and provide guidance for professional growth.
9. Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, partners, investors, and the board of directors, to drive mutual success and create strategic opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree (MBA, MS) preferred.
- Proven track record of success in senior leadership roles, preferably as a COO or equivalent, within a fast-paced and innovative tech company.
- Deep understanding of the tech industry, including emerging trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory considerations.
- Demonstrated experience in driving operational excellence, optimizing processes, and implementing scalable solutions.
- Strong strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
- Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
