Key Responsibilities
- Price Fares: Accurately assess fares based on industry rules and guidelines tailored to specific destinations.
- Provide Timely Quotes: Deliver fare quotes within set timelines, negotiating for additional time when necessary.
- Leverage Data: Utilize historical client event data to determine accurate origin cities and weight fares for precise program averages.
- Source Airline Block Space: Confirm airline block space for large groups, including gateway blocks for significant movements.
- Understand Airline Contracts: Get acquainted with annual airline group contracts, providing assistance to colleagues regarding contract details and pricing.
- Source Charter Aircraft: Identify and confirm charter aircraft as needed to fulfill program requirements.
- Evaluate Fare Restrictions: Compare current published airfares with negotiated fares to identify the most advantageous options for group travel.
- Negotiate and Communicate: Handle negotiations for airline group contracts, process seat deposits, and ensure timely communication regarding block and charter schedules, pricing, and penalties.
- Follow Procedures: Comply with all standard operating procedures for group air purchasing.
- Manage Multiple Tasks: Effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks under pressure while offering guidance to your team.
- Education & Experience: An associate degree in a relevant field or at least 5 years of related experience.
- Industry Knowledge: 2-4 years of experience in group or incentive air travel, with a strong understanding of the SABRE GDS system.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SABRE GDS, and accounting systems.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English for effective interaction with clients and participants.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal abilities complemented by exceptional customer service skills.
- Decision-Making Skills: Capable of making informed decisions and solving problems to ensure the viability of destinations and adequate air lift.
- Organizational Skills: Outstanding planning, time management, and organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Analytical Skills: Strong critical thinking and analytical capabilities to identify and mitigate risks.
