Senior Commercial Business Banker

Description

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Commercial Business Banker. This position involves actively pursuing new commercial loan and deposit opportunities, representing the bank in the community, and identifying cross-sell opportunities to drive business growth. You will also be involved in preliminary underwriting and ensuring loans are properly risk-rated.

Responsibilities

• Business Development: Establish new banking relationships and service existing clients. Achieve established goals and collaborate with branch partners to maximize sales efforts. Network with professionals such as accountants and attorneys to develop new business opportunities.
• Loan Management: Evaluate credit information and recommend appropriate loan structures. Manage a loan portfolio, including annual reviews and covenant compliance, achieving sales goals for loans (\(4MM to \)8MM) and deposits (\(800K to \)2MM).
• Community Engagement: Actively participate in community and corporate events to generate additional sales opportunities.
• Credit Analysis: Determine the creditworthiness of loan requests, negotiate loan structures and pricing, and prepare written credit analyses. Recommend appropriate risk ratings and maintain the asset quality of originated loans.
• Customer Service: Provide financial counseling and quality customer service while maintaining confidentiality of all customer and bank relationships.
• Team Collaboration: Assist other lending staff and support the bank’s community development efforts as needed.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field preferred.
• Successful completion of a formal lending/training program or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of commercial lending experience.
• Proficiency in commercial loan structuring, government regulations, and loan documentation.
• Ability to attract and retain commercial relationships.
• Strong underwriting and analytical skills, with the ability to manage larger, more complex credit requests.
• Excellent teamwork skills.
  
  

Work Environment

We offer a hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote after an initial 90-day period.

About The Organization

We adhere to established policies and procedures to fulfill requirements related to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA Patriot Act, and Economic Sanctions Program (OFAC). Employees will assist bank management in identifying reportable transactions and achieving objectives outlined in the bank’s policies, with mandatory training provided within 90 days of acceptance to this position.
