Procurement Buyer I - Wayne, NJ
Position Overview:
Responsible for the planning, procurement and management of raw material to ensure Manufacturing commitments are achieved while aligning inventory with Plant objectives. Represents the company professionally and ethically as a purchasing agent.
Job Details:
- Evaluate MRP to procure and schedule raw material in accordance with procedures
- Request Quotes and negotiates pricing
- Provide timely and appropriate material availability information to internal stakeholders
- Establish and maintain supplier relationships, taking corrective action as appropriate
- Align inventory with plant objectives and targets to ensure inventory optimization.
- Participate in projects, continuous improvement initiatives and new product introductions as assigned.
- Maintain SAP parameters to ensure data integrity.
- Resolve receiving discrepancies, invoices and supplier returns in a timely and complete manner.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to communicate, follow up and help with issues relating to purchased goods and services.
Background Experience:
- Minimum 6 months exp. in purchasing, materials management production planning, or other related activities. Exp. in medical device or regulated industry (GMP’s and ISO 9000) is preferred
- Associate’s degree in Business Management or other related field and/or combination of education and related experience required. Bachelor degree preferred
- APP or CPM Certification is ideal
- Prior SAP experience preferred
The salary range for this role is 70k-80k.
