The Trademark Paralegal role will support and partner with internal stakeholders (Brand and Sourcing) to help execute the company's brand protection strategies and enforcement initiatives. This role will administer the Company’s global trademark portfolio, including managing the internal trademark docket to track applications, registrations, and renewals. This role will coordinate with outside counsel and Brand team leaders to ensure timely and accurate prosecution of trademark applications and enforcement actions globally. In addition, this role will support the Sourcing team’s work with supply agreements and other commercial contracting needs.
Duties:
Collaborate with internal clients on asset protection for the Company’s brands.
Help manage and direct outside counsel with respect to trademark prosecution, oppositions, and enforcement matters.
Monitor trademark watch notices and third-party trademark activity to identify and address potential infringement issues.
Partner with outside counsel and Brand team leaders to manage trademark opposition, cancellation, and other conflict matters.
Manage GG Brands global trademark portfolio and coordinate with outside counsel and Brand team leaders to ensure timely and accurate prosecution of trademark applications.
Support the preparation and review of trademark-related agreements, including license agreements and coexistence agreements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Brand and Regulatory, to gather marketing evidence and product information requested by outside counsel to support statements of use and other trademark filings globally.
Compile documentation required for foreign filings.
Support the preparation and review of non-disclosure agreements, supply agreements, and other third-party contracts.
Collaborate with Sourcing and Sales team members to support third-party contracting.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in trademark portfolio management.
Exceptional organizational skills; detail-oriented and proactive.
Experience supporting commercial contracts.
Ability to work independently and prioritize projects, working well under pressure to meet specific deadlines.
Impeccable integrity and accountability.
Technically savvy, proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn new software systems quickly.
Possesses clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
Must be detail-oriented, well organized and comfortable communicating with internal stakeholders and outside counsel.
