A Budtender/Specialist’s main responsibility is providing superior customer service, facilitating efficient sales transactions and general maintenance of the sales floor at a Retail Cannabis Dispensary. Maintaining our standard of superior customer service with each interaction. Educating customers, listening with empathy, showing compassion, and understanding while facilitating a successful purchase/transaction. The Specialist fills the pivotal role as Retail Sales Associate in the Dispensary environment.
Specialists are responsible for partnering with leadership to ensure smooth daily operations based on their specific store schedule and operations.
Adheres to company policies and acts with integrity under the direct supervision of the Store Management Team.
In adherence to all compliance regulations governing the purchasing and selling of cannabis and non-cannabis product, the Budtender / Specialist will partner with the Store Management Team in each location to support all facets of policy and procedures and sales floor duties.

Sales & Profitability
- Deliver a positive, friendly experience by engaging the customer through conversation and exceptional service.
- Enhance the store environment and atmosphere by focusing on customer interactions over tasks.
- Exhibit excellence floor presence by following customer standards, product placement and time management.
- Prioritizes product knowledge as a main component of service and actively engages in all store trainings to ensure continued and ongoing education as it relates to product and service.
- Prioritizes and communicates department insights to direct supervisor.
- Assists team to uphold company customer service standards.

Communication

- Ensure compliance with all BCC, State and City regulations.
- Ensure compliance with Company emergency and safety procedures to protect employees and customers from accidents and incidents.
- Support store goals by training in loss prevention awareness and overseeing adherence to loss prevention practices.
- Regular attendance and punctuality are essential
Merchandising and Display
- Ensure a neat, clean, and organized store environment.
- Exhibit excellent knowledge regarding current product and trend awareness.
- Support the store team by assisting in merchandising and display products as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Must be 21 years old.
- Qualified candidates should have a minimum of 1-year experience in customer service in a retail environment.
- Must pass a federal background check via Live scan in certain markets.
- B.A. preferred, but experience is paramount.
- Experience working in a highly regulated businesses is desirable.
- Uses sound judgment when making decisions.
- Assumes other duties assigned by supervisor.
- Exhibits strong leadership skills amongst peers and have confidence communicating at the store level.
- Uphold excellent customer service skills and a service orientated culture.
- Achieve statistical results (sales, shrinkage).
- Previous retail experience preferred.
- Previous cannabis experience preferred.
Work Environment:
- This job operates in a professional cannabis store environment.
- This role routinely uses standard office and store equipment such as computers, phones, printers, POS.
- This position regularly requires working evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands or feet, reach with hands and arms, and required to lift a max of 50lbs.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
- This is a part time non-exempt hourly position which reports to store leadership.
- This position can require work on early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
Travel:
- This position may require you to travel to corporate offices as well as other store locations for training, learning and development.
