What are the responsibilities and job description for the Digital Print Operator position at GH Printing?
A Digital Print Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining two Konica Minolta Digital presses in a production environment. This also includes multiple production runs on various stocks, samples and scheduled printer maintenance. Offset and or Digital Print knowledge preferred.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has an upbeat attitude toward problem-solving, and is motivated to improve production processes.
Responsibilities
- Operate one or more printers at production standards.
- Interact with Graphics Department as needed to ensure quality and schedules
- Once trained maintain current and complete knowledge of all equipment and software
- Print on specified substrate using various printing equipment (i.e., factory software, RIP files, digital files).
- Loading and offloading substrate from printing equipment.
- Inspect printed materials for accuracy and quality control.
- Arrange stock of printing material in orderly fashion to best facilitate production
- Other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor
- Wrap, pack, label, and ship finished product
- Problem solves issues to complete production, delivery, and output requirements
- Perform quality inspection before, during and after output of each production run
- Collect data and respond to print/copy equipment issues by contacting service personnel using specific PC applications
- Ensure material inventory is accurately recorded and consistently maintained.
- Perform operator routine maintenance on equipment
- Maintain reporting logs and information for billing
- Meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Catch errors at the earliest possible stage
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Offset and Digital printing
- Knowledge of paper types a plus
- General familiarity with computer operations
- Able to demonstrate ability to send and receive emails, find, open, and save documents and files, perform data entry
- Able to demonstrate basic math skills (division, multiplication, percentages)
- Able to demonstrate business maturity and professionalism.
- Detail-oriented, organized and thorough in all aspects of process and communication
- A flexible work style and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to work independently and efficiently under pressure while staying organized
- Collaborative, with the ability to work across multiple creative and functional departments

- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. of material on a regular basis
